Cooperstown's Haney limits foe to one hit

Staff Report

Sawyer Haney scattered one hit over six innings and struck out eight to lead Cooperstown to a 12-2 Center State Conference baseball victory at Waterville on Wednesday.

Haney also went 3-for-5 with two RBIs for Cooperstown (3-1, 3-1), which received two hits apiece from Nico Knull (three RBIs) and Jack Donnelly.

Cooperstown hosts to Morrisville-Eaton on Friday

Kurt Haycook went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Matt Moore tripled with two RBIs to lead Unadilla Valley to a MAC victory.

Nate Shackelton sparked the Storm’s five-run first inning with an RBI single, then stole second to set up an RBI double by Brandon Kuhn.

Kevin Davis drove in two runs for UV, which received RBIs from Kurt Haycook and winning pitcher Mason Alford.

Unadilla Valley (4-6, 3-4) hosts Greene on Friday.

Pat Reid went 3-for-4 with three runs for the Patriots, who received three RBIs and two hits from Tritan Fralick and Jake Foffett.

Ethan Johnson struck out five and walked two in four innings of relief for the save.
