Big catch leads to SBA victory
Kyle Patrick caught the lunker of the day this past Sunday during the Susquehanna Bass Association’s Peggy Parker Real Estate Open Bass Tournament on Onondaga Lake.
Patrick’s 18.5-inch, 4.38-pound catch helped him win the tournament with Jim O’Brien as the two combined to fill the five-fish limit with a total of 19.56 pounds.
Bo DeMarco and Tom DeMarco placed second at 16.75 pounds, followed by Mike Barse and Vic VanSteenburg at 14.61 pounds.
Lou Falvo rounded out the top four totals with five fish weighing 12.23 pounds.
Steve Llewellyn caught the big smallmouth of the day, at 17.5 inches and 2.85 pounds.

OHS girls to host dinner Friday
The Oneonta High girls soccer team will hold a spaghetti-dinner fundraiser to benefit its program from 4-7 p.m. Friday at the Oneonta Elks Club.
Cost is $7.50 per person. Children under 10 are free.
Golf tourney set for Sept. 15
The Milford Education Foundation will hold its fifth annual golf tournament at 12:30 p.m. Sept. 15 at the Ouleout Creek Golf Course in Franklin.
The captain-and-crew tournament concludes with a dinner that includes Brooks’ chicken. Cost is $50 per person and includes cart, greens fees, food and prizes ($25 is tax deductible). First prize is $200.

Hall to host film festival
The eighth annual Baseball Hall of Fame Film Festival will run from Sept. 27-29 at the Cooperstown shrine.
The festival will start at 7 p.m. Sept. 27 in the Grandstand Theater with a screening of Legendary Entertainment’s “42,” which details how Jackie Robinson became the first modern African-American to break into the big leagues.
