Tennis tourney set for Tuesday

The Pathfinder Village Foundation will host the fourth annual Chobani Tennis Classic on Tuesday at the Cooperstown Country Club.

The event starts at 8:30 a.m. and features 30 players in two round-robin flights. Playoffs will begin at 2 p.m. Hall of Fame pitcher Rollie Fingers will attend the reception and awards banquet, which will follow play at The Otesaga Hotel.

Proceeds will support the foundation’s scholarship endowment, which assists residents who live with Down syndrome and other developmental disabilities in Edmeston’s Pathfinder Village.

OHS modified practices Wednesday

Oneonta High’s modified fall sports programs will begin practicing Wednesday, starting with swimming at 9:30 a.m. at OHS. Modified cross country, football, boys soccer and girls soccer will start at 3:15 p.m. at OHS. At the same time, modified volleyball will open at Oneonta Middle School.

Athletes must have completed health-history questionnaires and updated physicals to participate. Forms are available at the high school and middle school health offices.

Water aerobics open Wednesday

SUNY Delhi changed the start date of its Water Aerobics Class from Monday to Wednesday.

The first class will run from 5-6 p.m.

Delhi also set its pool hours for the following dates:

Wednesday-Friday: Lap swim, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., 6-7 p.m.

Thursday-Friday: Open swim, 7-8 p.m.

Sept. 7-13: Lap swim, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., 6-7 p.m.; Open swim, 7-9 p.m.

Sept. 14-15: Open swim, 1-5 p.m.

Sept. 16-27: Lap swim, 7-8 a.m., 11 a.m.-1 p.m., 6-7 p.m.; Open swim, 7-9 p.m.

Sept. 28-29: Open swim, 1-5 p.m.

Note: No open swimming Sept. 12.
