Milford sweeps Roxbury in openers


Krom’s counterpart, Ferrara, finished with 11 saves.

“She made some pretty outstanding saves,” Sidney coach Jody Gravelin said of Ferrara, who thwarted two breakaways.

Gravelin said of her team’s opener: “I told my team afterward that it was a total team effort. Everyone contributed something.”

Winsdor defeated Chenango Valley, 2-1, in the other first-round game.

B-G will face CV in the consolation game at 10 a.m. Saturday. Sidney will play Windsor in the title game at 11:30 a.m.

Nicole Mackey and Shannon McIntyre contributed seven assists apiece for the Storm, who received five aces from Haley Benson.

Kayli Dickinson paced Greene with nine aces and three assists.
