Johnson set up the decisive run with a triple.

Sawyer Haney and Ethan Bliss contributed three hits and two RBIs apiece for Cooperstown. Bliss hit a two-run double in the first inning and Haney drove in two runs with a single in the third.

Cooperstown (9-6, 8-4) avenged a 4-2 loss earlier this season to Sauquoit Valley, which won the CSC D-III title. Chris Hillman paced SV (10-7, 10-2) with two hits and three RBIs.

“This gives us a good boost going into sectionals,” Cooperstown coach Frank Miosek said.
