---- — Sisters sixth in sync swimming

Oneonta swimmers Remy and Sevran Kane placed sixth in their division during the East Zone Regional Synchronized Swim Championships, which ran this past Friday through Sunday in New Canaan, Conn.

Representing Oneonta Aqua Danse Synchro Swim Club, the Kanes competed in the 13-and-over Intermediate Duets. They qualified for regionals with a third-place finish during the April 27 Adirondack Synchronized Swim Association Championships at Hartwick College.

Swimmers from Binghamton, Albany and Connecticut also competed in the regional event.

Green Wave to host dinner

The Oneonta Green Wave Legion baseball team will host a spaghetti-and-meatballs dinner from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the Oneonta American Legion at 279 Chestnut St. in Oneonta.

The meal also includes tossed salad and bread. Donation is $8 per dinner.

A gift basket will be raffled off during the dinner.

Walton awards night June 3

Walton Central School will host its annual sports awards night at 6:30 p.m. June 3 in the high school auditorium. All varsity teams will be recognized.

Golf events to benefit soccer club

The Headwaters Soccer Club will hold two charity golf tournaments to benefit its summer soccer camp program.

Both tournaments are scramble format. Golfers may register individually or as teams.

Entry fee is $60 and includes greens fees, cart and buffet. First-, second- and third-place teams will receive awards.

OHS awards night June 6

Oneonta High will host its 67th annual Varsity “O” Athletics Awards Evening at 7 p.m. June 6 in the high school cafeteria.

All varsity teams will be recognized. All athletes and their families are invited.

The Yellowjackets will present the following awards: Male and Female Athlete of the Year; Anthony C. Drago; Herb Burchell; Carl J. Delberta (male and female); E.C. Dutch Damaschke; Service and Athletics; and Cathy Lynch Patron to Athletics.

A dessert buffet will follow the awards presentation in the cafeteria.

Youth soccer registration open

Registration forms for Oneonta’s fall recreational soccer program are being distributed through the Oneonta elementary schools.

Forms also are available at the Latte Lounge on Main Street in Oneonta.

Registration open for adult soccer

The Latte Lounge Oneonta Adult Summer Soccer League is securing teams and players.

The league will begin play in mid-June and run until early August. There will be men’s and women’s divisions for ages 17 and up.

Milford Cat Classic 5K is June 15

The Milford Booster Club will host the Cat Classic 5K Run and Walk on June 15.

Registration runs from 9-10 a.m. in the Milford Central parking lot. The race starts at 10:30 a.m. in front of the Milford Central driveway on 42 West Main St. and ends on the track finish line.

Cost to pre-register (by June 13) is $15 per person or $45 per family. Registration on race day is $20 per person. No family rate is available on race day.

The Davenport Center VFW will host a NYS trapper training course from 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. June 8.

Hall to display World Series trophy

The San Francisco Giants’ 2012 World Series trophy will be on exhibit at the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown from June 22-23.

The trophy will be on display in the Hall’s Library Atrium from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. both days. Access to the trophy is included with museum admission.

Softball school runs June 24-27

The 6th Ward All County Softball School will run from 9 a.m.-noon June 24-27 at Ted Christman Field in Neahwa Park.

The school is for players ages 9-17 and teaches fundamentals of pitching, hitting, fielding and base running.

Youth soccer camps start in June

The Headwaters Soccer Club is accepting registrations for its 2013 summer camps.

Seven camps will be held for boys and girls ages 7-17, including team camps.

Cost is $60 per camper per week. Each participant will receive a T-shirt and a water bottle.

The camps run from 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday on the following dates:

June 24-28: at Otego American Legion Post 1555.

July 1-5: at Worcester Central.

July 8-12: at Mine Kill State Park.

July 15-19: at Mine Kill State Park.

July 22-26: at Edmeston Central.

July 29-Aug. 2: at Mine Kill State Park.

Aug. 5-9: at Oneonta State.

Bowhunter course June 26-27

The Davenport Fire Department will host a NYS Bowhunter Education Course from 5:30-9:30 p.m. June 26-27.

Class size is limited to 40 students.

Girls basketball camp July 21-24

The Oneonta State women’s basketball team will host a developmental overnight/commuter camp for girls ages 10-18 from July 21-24.

Team members will serve as counselor’s for the camp, which is designed to develop fundamentals.

Daily activities include 1-on-1 and 3-on-3 instruction, fundamental stations, and games.

Cost is $295 for residents (overnight) and $255 for commuters. A $35 non-refundable deposit is required with the application. Those who submit applications and full payments by June 3 will receive a $10 discount. Group discounts are also available.

Lacrosse camp July 24-27

SUNY Delhi will host the High Octane Lacrosse Camp for boys ages 8-18 from July 24-27.

Cost is $375 per person to attend the overnight camp, which is designed to enhance individual and team skills.

Outlaws seeking host families

The Oneonta Outlaws are seeking families to host one or more players this summer.

Each host family will receive $300 per player, which will be paid by the Outlaws upon arrival. Host families also will receive a $100 voucher per player. Vouchers may be used to buy food and/or souvenirs at Damaschke Field.

The compensation package also includes one family season pass, which includes admission to all home games during the regular season and playoffs.
