Atchinson Cup is this weekend

The Oneonta Country Club will host the Otsego County Amateur Golf Tournament on Saturday and Sunday.

Known as the Atchinson Cup, the Otsego County Amateur is a 36-hole competition featuring championship and net flights that will be determined by handicaps.

There will be 10 players per flight for the tournament, which is open to all Otsego County residents and non-residents who are members of Otsego County golf courses.

Entry fee is $60. For more information, call OCC head golf professional Matthew Schulte at 607-432-8950, ext. 2.

Football fundraiser Sunday

The Oneonta Football Booster Club will host its annual Pancake Breakfast from 8-10 a.m. Sunday at Applebee’s in the Southside Mall. Cost is $5 per ticket.

Unatego modifieds start Monday

Unatego will start modified practices for the fall sports season Monday.

Boys soccer will run from 3-5 p.m. at Unadilla Elementary, followed by volleyball (4-7 p.m. at Unatego), girls soccer (5-7 p.m. at Otego Elementary), and football (5-7:30 p.m. at Unatego).

Section Four meetings set

Section Four will host 2013 Fall Sports Rules Interpretation Meetings on the following dates:

Monday: Soccer (boys & girls) at Seton Catholic Central, 7 p.m.

Tuesday: Cross country at Chenango Valley High, 2 p.m.

Section Four coaches at all levels of these sports are encouraged to attend.

Youth football sign-ups Monday

Oneonta Youth Football will hold sign-ups, check-in and equipment distribution Monday at the 6th Ward Booster Club Field on Scramling Ave., which is across from the Oneonta Boys and Girls Club.

Sign-ups and check-ins for players ages 8-10 will run from 5:15-6:15 p.m., followed by the same for players ages 11-12 from 6:15-7:15 p.m.

Players must be age 8 by Dec. 1 and cannot turn 13 before Sept. 1 to participate. Twelve-year-olds in grades 7 or higher are not eligible. A copy of each player’s birth certificate and a $25 insurance fee is required.
