O-State women win tourney

Mitch Kemp scored a team-high 22 points for the Spartans (0-2).

Oneonta is off until Nov. 28, when it hosts city rival Hartwick.

Fitchburg 108, Cobleskill 98

Tyrone Mitchell scored a game-high 22 points Saturday, but Cobleskill fell in the championship game of the New England College Tip-Off

Tournament.

Mike Marcelin and Will Davis contributed 15 points apiece for the Fighting Tigers (1-1), who host Medaille at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Mike Ingram-Rubin and Zach Valliere scored 21 points apiece for the Falcons (2-0).

Delhi 79, Onondaga 65

Stefan Bock scored 14 of his team-high 16 points in the first half to lead SUNY Delhi to a road victory Saturday.

Quayshaun Mitchell contributed 14 points for the Broncos (7-0), who are ranked second among NJCAA Division III teams. Sandhills CC, which won the 2011 NJCAA D-III title, is the top-ranked team this season.

“We ran the best offense this season and we defended Onondaga well,” said Delhi coach Rob Schoener, whose team held the Lazers (3-3) 28 points under its season scoring average.

Adam Misener scored 17 points and Vaughndell Brantley had 16 for Onondaga, which received three points from Oneonta High graduate Jake VanDusen.

Delhi hosts Cayuga CC at 8 p.m. today.
