Afton 34, Hancock 31
Peyton Cutting had a double-double as Afton won at home in its Midstate Athletic Conference opener.
The junior forward had 16 points and 14 rebounds.
“She’s an experienced junior,” Afton coach John Simonds said. “She’s been playing on varsity since eighth grade so she’s kind of like a senior for us, just not by grade. She really had a good rebounding game.”
Shakari Coss contributed 15 points, including three three-pointers.
“I think she had more three-pointers tonight than we have had as a team in two years,” Simonds said.
