Afton boys top Bainbridge-Guilford

Kyle Hinman scored a team-high 24 points to lead visiting Afton to a 67-58 boys basketball victory over Bainbridge-Guilford on Tuesday in the season-opener for both teams.

Darian Heath contributed 18 points and James Westfall had 16 for the Crimson Knights, who took a 20-6 lead after one quarter.

Kyle Hanvey had 24 points and six rebounds for Bainbridge-Guilford, which outscored Afton, 19-9, in the third quarter to pull to 47-46. Mike Carlin had 17 points, and Lucas Butcher finished with nine points, four assists and four steals for the Bobcats.
