Softball registration under way

The Adult Summer Softball League in Oneonta will hold open registration for the 2014 season through April 30.

Men’s and women’s teams wishing to play this summer may attend the final informational meetings for each league at the skatehouse in Neahwa Park. The final women’s meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. today. The final men’s meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday.

Registration costs $600 per team and includes forfeit bond and liability fee. Money should be sent to Louie Barnes, P.O. Box 925, Oneonta, NY 13820.

Swim club seeking members

The Sidney Swim Club Summer Competitive Team is accepting sign-ups.

Youths of all ages from all school districts are eligible for the team, which competes April 21-Aug. 15.

Registration fee is $80 and includes USA membership, team cap and T-shirt. Monthly dues cost $25, but sibling discounts are available. Reduced fees are available for qualifying families as well.

SADD run set for April 27

The 16th annual SADD Strides For Safety 5K Run/Walk and Health Fair will be held April 27 at Oneonta High.

Registration and the health fair begins at 11:30 a.m. The race starts at 1 p.m.

Fee is $15 before April 27 and $20 on race day. Those registering by April 1 will be guaranteed an event T-shirt. Registration forms are available at schools in Oneonta, Franklin and Unatego, or by going online at www.oneontacsd.org/news.cfm.

Basketball camp runs July 7-11

Oneonta State will host its 11th annual Red Dragon Basketball Camp from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. July 7-11.

The camp, which has a 9-to-1 camper-to-coach ratio, is open to boys and girls ages 6-17.
