The Wednesday night men’s league opens with a shotgun start at 5:15 p.m. and runs from April 9-Aug. 27. The league will feature 20 two-man teams. A league fee of $50 will go toward a year-end banquet and prizes for the winners. Cost is $20 per week, which includes greens fees and cart.

The Thursday night open league runs from April 10-Aug. 28 and will have an early division (tee off between 2:30-4 p.m.) and a late division (4-5:45 p.m.). Two-person teams may be any combination of men and women. The league fee is $50 and weekly cost is $12 to walk and $20 to ride.

Golf leagues start soon

Colonial Ridge Golf in Laurens is accepting sign-ups for 2014 league play.

Leagues will meet on the following dates:

April 24: Thursday PM Men, 5 p.m.

April 26: Friday PM Couples, 5 p.m.

April 28: Monday AM Ladies, 9 a.m.; Monday PM Ladies, 5:30 p.m.

April 29: Tuesday AM Men, 9 a.m..

May 1: Thursday AM Seniors, 8:30 a.m.

League play costs $7 per week for non-course members. A one-time fee of $25 for dues pays for the banquet and prizes.

Youth golf clinics start May 18

The new Greater Oneonta Junior Golf Association will host Sunday golf clinics for boys and girls ages 5-13 starting at 3 p.m. May 18 at the Oneonta Country Club.

PGA Golf Professionals Kevin Burnsworth (Dick’s Sporting Goods) and Matt Schulte (Oneonta Country Club) will conduct the clinics, which will run five straight Sundays.

Cost is $50 per child for all five Sundays and includes PGA Golf instruction, playing time on the golf course each week, golf shirt, bag tag and closing picnic. Participants also will play specific holes each week based on their abilities. All children will learn proper etiquette and ball-striking.
