C'town freshman throws 3-hitter in debut

Danny Ballard’s 10-8 victory over Kyle Moorby at second singles helped the visiting Rockets to a Delaware League victory. Emily Arvanete and Ethan McDaniel contributed a 9-7 win at first doubles.

Windham 6, Andes 0

Malcolm Seamans cruised to a 9-1 victory at first singles to lead Windham to a Delaware League win at home Tuesday.

TRACKat Delhi

Declan Kottmeier won a pair of distance runs for host Delhi during a four-team Midstate Athletic Conference meet.

Kottmeier placed first in the 1,600-meter run (4:55.6) and the 3,200 (11:52.5) for the Bulldogs’ boys, who scored 50 points to finish one point behind team champion Deposit.

Christian Rutherford, Aedan Flaherty and Will Farrell won individual events for Walton, which placed third with 45 points. Rutherford won the 200 meters (24.7), Flaherty placed first in the 800 (2:16.1) and Farrell took the 400 hurdles (1:07.2).

Fourth-place Unadilla Valley, which had 40 points, received wins from Kevin Myers (400, 58.6) and Sam Tuttle (shot put, 37 feet, 1.5 inches).

Unadilla Valley’s girls cruised to a team win with 77 points. Delhi scored 59, followed by Walton at 38.5 and Deposit at 18.5.

Julia Oglesby won the 100 (13.3) and the 200 (29.1) for the Storm, which also received two victories from Nicole Mackey (800, 2:48.6; 3,000, 13:44.7).

Sadie Dibbell contributed a win in the 1,500 (6:09:3) and Taylor Davis placed first in the 100 hurdles for UV.

Delhi got wins from Heleena Hilson (400 hurdles, 1:24.1), Abby Hall (shot put, 28-5.5), Agie Hook (high jump, 4-8) and Amelie Legg (pole vault, 7-6).

Kim Kehr paced Walton with a first in the 400 (1:04.9).

POSTPONEMENTS

The following games scheduled for Wednesday were postponed because of unplayable field conditions.

Baseball: Unadilla Valley at Walton (4:30 p.m. Tuesday); Roxbury at H-T (no new date); Gilboa at Jefferson (no new date); Richfield Springs at Cooperstown (no new date); Oxford at Unatego (4:30 p.m. April 10).

Softball: Unadilla Valley at Walton (4:30 p.m. Tuesday); Oxford at Unatego (4:30 p.m. April 10); H-T at Roxbury (no new date); Jefferson at Gilboa (no new date).

Track: Davenport/SK, Richfield Springs at G-MU/Morris (no new date).
