Other Hartwick men’s winners were Luke Grunewald (1,000 free, 9:59.69), Brendan Day (200 breaststroke, 2:21.82), Chris Farrell (500 free, 4:58.62), and Ryan Cichielo (100 breaststroke, 1:02.67).
Cichielo joined Plunkett, Detar and Ranson for a win in the 200 medley relay (1:38.69) for Hartwick, which moved to 12-2 this season.
Kaitlyn Campbell, Imma Rutigliano, Clare Nelson, Gwen Mathias and Lindsay Bowker won two events apiece for Hartwick’s women (8-6). Campbell touched first in the 1,000 free (11:06.86) and the 100 free (57.25); Rutigliano won the 200 free (2:01.19) and the 200 backstroke (2:17.20); Nelson was first in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.54) and the 200 breaststroke (2:31.73); Mathias took the 200 butterfly (2:19.37) and the 500 free (5:28.77); and Bowker swept the diving events (1-meter, 214; 3-meter, 242.5).
Allison Agate contributed a win in the 100 back (1:03.89) and Lindsay Bierwert won the 100 butterfly (1:02.86) for Hartwick, which received firstst from Rutigliano, Nelson, Bierwert and Kelsey Elliot in the 200 medley relay (1:55.76) and from Elliot, Campbell, Helen Merkley and Rachel Bellis in the 200 free relay (1:46.56).
The Hawks will host their final home meet of the season this Saturday against St. Lawrence on Senior Recognition/Parent Appreciation Day.
O-State cruises on road
Oneonta State’s men and women swept SUNYAC host Brockport, 144-89 and 117-106, respectively, on Saturday.
Colton Roe set a pool record in the 200 backstroke (1:56.33) for Oneonta’s men (4-2), who received two wins apiece from diver Jermaine Miller (1-meter, 257.75; 3-meter, 274.5) and John Rein (200 free, 1:48.81; 100 free, 49.30).
Ryan Walsh won the 50 free (22.72) and Lucas Santiago took the 400 IM (4:23.49) for the Red Dragons, who placed first in the 400 medley relay with Roe, Walsh, Rein and Connor Kelly (3:38.62).
Lauren Zentko’s victories in the 400 IM (4:46.98) and the 500 free (5:19.93) paced Oneonta’s women (5-1). She also joined Carly Cahill, Nicole DiFilippo and Chandler Shepard (Delhi) for a triumph in the 400 medley relay (4:07.73).
Shepard contributed a win in the 100 free (55.18), as did Taylor Waldrop in the 1,000 free (11:21.90), Kelly Ruf in the 200 butterfly (2:16.36), and Kara Garbarino in 3-meter diving (179.75).
Oneonta hosts New Paltz this Saturday.
