Coopestown also earned wins from Ted Mebust in the 100 backstroke (1:00.73) and Ivan Bae-Braunstein in the 100 butterfly (1:03.42).
On Saturday, Idelson broke his school record en route to winning the Frontier League diving championships at South Jefferson.
Idelson, a senior, had an 11-dive score of 373.85, which broke his previous record of 331.80 set last season. He beat the runner-up from Sherburne-Earlville by 11 points.
“He’s really worked on his higher degree of difficulty dives,” Rock said. “He’s worked on his doubles and he’s really worked on his two and a halves.”
The remainder of the Frontier League Championships will resume Saturday back at Rome Free Academy.
WRESTLINGUnatego wins twice
Unatego followed a 55-13 victory over Greene with a 37-36 squeeze past Greene in a pair of Midstate Athletic Conference dual meets.
The Spartans sealed the victory over Greene at 220 pounds. Greene’s Jeff Pornbeck decisioned Riley Hanrahan, 5-3, to give Greene a 36-31 lead. The Trojans needed to win that match by a major decision (eight points) or better to win the match.
Unatego’s Bradey Bean earned a forfeit win at 285 to give the Spartans the victory.
The key match came at 120. Unatego’s Holden Smith and Keenan Bailey were tied at 5 in the third period. Bailey was assessed a penalty point for locking hands before Smith escaped to earn the victory.
Ryan Marszal earned a pin at 170 pounds for Unatego.
Against Delhi, Unatego’s Lucas DeJoy earned a 1-0 decision over Trey Mostert at 145 pounds with an escape in the third period.
Unatego also received pins from Troy Jones (152), Nate Wilsey (160) and Bean (285).
Bryan Ingram won by pin for Delhi at 195.
Unatego (5-1) will travel to Chenango Valley on Thursday.
