Indians knock off unbeaten Davenport


UV rallied to tie the score at 19 late in the second quarter, but the Bobcats took the lead for keeps when Rebecca Reyes hit a three-pointer about 20 seconds before halftime.

Conway singled out the defensive play of Megan Ferrara on Corrine Izard and Marissa Thornton on Taylor Davis.

“They did a really nice job to hold those two kids to 10 points,” Conway said.

Ferrara also had six points and 12 rebounds.

B-G will travel to Delhi on Friday.

Emily Converse had 12 points to lead the Storm.

Sidney 43, Hancock 39

Rileigh Genung scored all 13 of her points in the second half, nine of them in the decisive fourth-quarter, to help host Sidney to a Midstate Athletic Conference victory.

Kelsey Decker scored 13 and Bethany Karl grabbed 10 rebounds for the Wariors (9-5, 9-0).

Hancock pulled to three points with less than a minute left when it fouled Kelsey Decker, who went 1-for-2 from the line to seal it for Sidney.

Kaitlyn Wormuth scored 13 to lead Hancock.

Sidney will host Oxford today.

Stamford 46, Walton 24

Kimi Freer scored seven of her game-high 16 points in the second-quarter to lead a 21-3 Stamford spurt that carried the visiting Indians to a non-league victory.

Walton’s Destyni Twyman grabbed nine rebounds and had four steals for the Warriors (0-14, 0-9), who will travel to Deposit today.

Greene 57, Deposit 29

Jessica David scored 15 points to lead visiting Greene in the Midstate Athletic Conference.

Kylie Papagelos and Haley Linkroum had nine points apiece for Deposit (3-11), which will host Walton tonight.
