Brian Kraft hit a two-run single in the sixth inning Saturday at Damaschke Field, but Oneonta gave up an unearned run in the top of the seventh for a New York Collegiate Baseball League loss to the visiting Syracuse Junior Chiefs.

Kraft’s single to left field plated Howard Joe and Spencer Duffie to tie the score at 2 in the opening game of a day-night doubleheader.

Noel Garcia reached second on a two-base error to lead off the seventh for the Chiefs, chasing reliever Zach Moreau as Oneonta closer Brandon Agar took over. Pinch-runner Nicholas Zinay then stole third, setting up Aaron Pigna for the go-ahead single to right field.
