Cring becomes a perfectionist


Oneonta plays Johnson City in the Union-Endicott Cancer Tournament at noon Saturday. OHS will play Vestal or Greene in the second round Saturday.

South Kortright scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning for a come-from-behind victory in the Delaware League.

Kayla Craft’s single scored Savannah Hobbie with one out to pull South Kortright (3-4, 3-1) within one run. Taylor Sherwood singled to put runners at the corners, then took second without a throw by the catcher.

Losing pitcher Emma Wilson then got two batters to pop out to the infield, but Rosie Post followed with her third double to score both runners and secure the victory for the Rams.

Post finished 4-for-6 with three RBIs for the Rams, who got four hits and four RBIs from Kelsey Little. Rachel Hanselman and Courtney Soule (three RBIs) each had three hits for the Rams, who visit Margaretville on Monday.

Sarah Murin paced Hunter-Tannersville with a 5-for-5 effort that included a triple, a home run and five RBIs. Taylor Firmalino contributed three hits and two RBIs for the Wildcats.

Windham 21, Margaretville 5

Brianna Jaeger and Keily Linger had three hits apiece to lead a Windham offense that had 16 hits during a Delaware League win at home.

Windham (4-2, 2-1), which received a double and three RBIs from Jaeger, will host Roxbury on Monday.

Rachel Mathiesen had two hits to lead Margaretville.
