Delhi pole vaulter tops 11 feet at O'Donnel Invite

Joe Brown cleared 11 feet to win the pole vault for Delhi’s boys Friday at the Gerry O’Donnell Track and Field Invitational at Windsor.

Teammate Declan Kottmeier contributed a third in the 3,200-meter run, finishing in 10:52.50, to help the Bulldogs place 10th with 17 points in the 12-team invitational.

Walton’s 3,200 relay victory in 9:14.56 helped the Warriors to an area-best fifth-place finish with 25 points.

Susquehanna Valley won the team title with 140 points. Stamford rounded out the area teams with two points, tying Seton Catholic Central for 11th.

Cassie Ehrhart won the 400 hurdles to pace Stamford’s girls, who finished fifth out of 12 teams with 33 points. Ehrhart, who finished in 1:11.89, also placed third in the long jump (14-0) and fourth in the 100 hurdles (18.14).

Seventh-place Delhi (30 points) got runner-up finishes from Abby Hall (discus, 90-10; shot put, 31-10) and Adreanna Hook (high jump, 4-6).

Walton received a second from Kim Kehr in the 400 (1:02.61), helping the Warriors to 27 points for eighth place.

Windsor won the girls team title with 133 points.

TENNISH-T 5, Stamford 2

Neal Statts, Taylor Dart and Rae Goss won at third, fourth and fifth singles, respectively, to lead host Hunter-Tannersville in the Delaware League.

Vincent Milone and K.C. Rockwell of Stamford downed Hannah Podsiadlik and Sophia Tsiselsky, 10-9, at second doubles.

H-T (6-5) will host Roxbury on Monday.

Greene 4, B-G 1

Ben Gabriel Gonzalez earned a 7-6 (7-3), 6-3 win over Cameron Race at first singles, but host Bainbridge-Guilford lost in the Midstate Athletic Conference.

The Trojans’ Kevin Koerts rallied for a 1-6, 6-3, 6-3 win over Skyler McKee at second singles.

B-G (3-4) will host Oxford on Monday.
