O-State men miss title by two points

The Fighting Tigers opened the tournament with a 2-1 loss to Wilson College on Friday.

Penn State Berks won the NEAC title with two victories over six-time defending champion Keuka on Sunday.

Keuka, which features NEAC North Division Pitcher of the Year Danielle Gravel (Sidney), suffered a 9-1 setback to PS Berks on Sunday before topping Wilson, 11-5, in an elimination game. The Storm then lost, 8-5, as the Nittany Lions (36-3) clinched the NEAC title and an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Gravel took both pitching losses for Keuka (17-15).

IHSA Championships

Sophomore Leah DiGioia had the best Cobleskill Western Equestrian Team finish at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association National Championships, which ran Friday and Saturday at the Pennsylvania Show Complex.

DiGioia placed fourth in the Open Reigning Division for Cobleskill’s highest finish at the championship event since the sport became part of the college’s intercollegiate athletic program in 2011.
