O-State players honored by SUNYAC

Oneonta State’s Jim Hegmann and Tricia Kendziera earned all-conference honors in baseball and softball, respectively, from the SUNY Athletic Conference on Monday.

Senior relief pitcher Hegmann made the Second Team after going 2-3 with a 5.46 ERA. He led Oneonta in appearances (15), and saves (four).

Hegemann, who struck out 19 in 31 1/3 innings, went 5-6 with a 4.04 ERA in 40 appearances in a Red Dragons uniform.

Junior outfielder Kendziera also made the Second Team, marking her second all-conference selection in softball.

A first-teamer as a freshman, Kendziera finished the spring with team-bests in hits (41), runs (22), doubles (eight), walks (24), total bases (49), batting average (.383) and on-base percentage (.507).

Kendziera, who struck out three times in 107 at-bats, has an all-time batting average of .360.

SUNY Cobleskill

SUNY Cobleskill selected freshman sprinter T.J. Moade as its Fighting Tiger Athlete of the Week on Monday.

Moade topped Cobleskill’s performances in the men’s portion of the Oneonta State May Meet on Saturday with a victory in the 400-meter run. He finished in an Eastern College Athletic Conference championship-qualifying time of 49.88 seconds.

Moade will compete in the ECAC Championships, which run Thursday and Friday at Springfield College in Springfield, Mass.
