Baker strikes out 17 in win

Megan Smith had three hits and three RBIs to lead visiting Unadilla Valley to a victory in the Midstate Athletic Conference 9-12 Tournament championship game.

Winning pitcher Jackie Smith hit a two-run double and drove in another run with a sacrifice fly for the Storm, which scored five times in the seventh for the final margin.

Samantha Saunders doubled twice, singled and drove in a run for Unatego, which finished its season 3-10. Courtney Bullis contributed two hits and an RBI for the Spartans.

Roxbury 19, Jefferson 0

Roxbury scored at least two runs in every inning for a Delaware League rout at home.

Bailey O’Donnell led the Rockets, going 2-for-4 with a grand slam and five RBIs.

Shannon Sprague (two RBIs) and Marissa Greene each contributed two hits for Roxbury (10-3, 6-1), which visits Windham today.

SK 20, Stamford 13

South Kortright amassed 15 hits in its Delaware League road victory.

Kelsey Little went 4-for-6 and Savannah Hobbie finished 3-for-5 for the Rams, who got a home trun from Lexi DuBois.

Kayla Craft, Courtney Soule and Taylor Sherwood had two hits apiece for SK, which scored in every inning except the first.

Gabby Rion doubled and singled to lead Stamford.

Downsville 26, Margaretville 16

Winning pitcher Kaileen Townsend homered in the second inning to help host Downsville to a Delaware League victory.

Chelsea Doig contributed two hits and three RBIs and Leigha LaTourette also had three RBIs for the Eagles (5-6), who need a win today at home against Jefferson to qualify for sectionals.

Rachel Mathiesen had three hits and two RBIs for Margaretville.

Schenevus 19, CV-S 3

Winning pitcher Taylor Spranger hit two home runs to lead Schenevus to a road victory in the Tri-Valley League.

Alyssa Turner had four hits, including a double and a home run, and teammates Stephanie Pepaj and Vickie Hubbard contributed three hits a piece.

Maddie Archer tripled for the Patriots, who finish the season 3-14.
