Matt Anderson hit three three-pointers en route to a game-high 15 points to the lead the Indians to a non-league victory over host Walton.

Greg Keating contributed 13 points and Greg Mattice scored 10 for Stamford (6-1), which outscored the Warriors, 27-8, in the second half.

Eric Zimmerman (three threes) had 13 points and Dalton Kaminsky scored 11 for Walton.

Stamford visits Jefferson on Thursday.

Edmeston 46, Morris 35

Linton Wainwright scored nine of his game-high 19 points in the first quarter as Edmeston upset Morris in the first round of the Mustangs’ Ray Clement Tournament.

It marked Morris first loss of the season and the game counted in the Tri-Valley League standings.

The Panthers outscored Morris, 19-5, in the opening quarter.

“I knew they were going to be pretty good,” Morris coach Dave Sander said. “We did not come ready to play. They outhustled us.”

Morris cut the lead to five, 29-24 in the third quarter but drew no closer.

Mike DeLuca led Morris (4-1, 3-1) with 10 points. Edmeston held Levi Decker to five points.

“They played good defense,” Sander said. “They are quick. They got to the loose balls. They were on it better than we were. They started out in a (combination defense), but they didn’t stay with it long. They changed defenses a lot on us, and we were just stagnant. We stood around and watched a lot.”

Edmeston will play Mohawk in the championship game at 5 p.m. Saturday. The Mohicans beat Deposit, 69-35, in the other first round game. Morris will face Deposit in the consolation game at 2 p.m.
