Gollin also had a fifth in the 300 (38.96). Teammate Aaron Murphy finished second in the triple jump, at 41 feet, 5 inches.
Area athletes took three of the top six spots in the boys and girls shot put. Sidney’s Matt Fischer won the boys title at 43-3, followed by second-place Pedro Aparicio of Bainbridge-Guilford/Afton (43-3) and his teammate Chris Puerile, who placed fourth at 41-9.
Sidney’s Samantha Mullineaux had a runner-up finish in the girls shot put, at 30-3. Kim Kehr of Walton placed fifth (27-8.25) and Herrick was sixth (27-4.5). Herrick also placed third in the high jump (4-10).
B-G/A’s girls got a third from Katrina Ross in the 55 hurdles (10.15).
Bears sophomore standout Julia Knapp competed against girls in grades 9 and 10 only and won the 300 in 43.39 and the long jump at 16-6.75.
Other 9-10 age-group winners were Sidney’s Dean Howard in the boys 300 (1:29.89), Oneonta’s Taylor Hitchcock in the girls 3,000, and Sidney’s Cindy Kaptan in the girls shot put (27-11).
