Mustangs girls down Wildcats

Delhi 34, Walton 29

Kaitlin Haynes had 13 points and 11 rebounds, and earned its victory of the season in the Midstate Athletic Conference.

The Bulldogs, who had lost by 15- and eight-point deficits to Walton earlier this season, outscored the Warriors, 9-6, in the fourth quarter. Haynes had six points in the quarter, including 4-for-7 from the free throw line.

“Hustle,” said Delhi coach Jessica Laing, when asked what was different from the first two meetings against Walton. “You could just tell they really wanted this game. If there was a ball on the floor, they were diving to get it.”

Katie Pardee contributed seven points for Delhi (1-12), which will travel to Deposit on Friday.

Cortney Miller had seven points to pace Walton.

Stamford 57, Andes 35

Cassie Ehrhart scored a game-high 19 points to lead three Stamford players in double figures in the host Indians’ Delaware League victory.

Erin Hull had 12 points, and Kim Freer contributed 10 points and 11 rebounds for Stamford (8-2, 7-1), which will play host to Morris on Tuesday.

The following Stamford will play Upper Division rival Davenport Twice. Davenport also has one league loss.

Shianne Coss finished with 17 points and 14 rebounds for Andes.

CV-S 43, RS 22

Half of Jordan Loucks’ game-high 16 points came during an 18-7 second-quarter run that helped Cherry Valley-Springfield to a Tri-Valley League victory.

Lauren Loucks contributed nine points for the Patriots (7-5, 5-3), who received 15 rebounds from Kylie Graham.

The Patriots (7-5, 5-3) will travel to Milford on Friday.

Davenport 39, Gilboa 21

Cassie Wubbenhorst, Kassie Jeffers, Sarah Haight and Jenna Lutz all scored eight points to lead Davenport to a road win the Delaware League.

Brooke Koerner scored nine points to lead Gilboa (7-6, 5-5), which is at Downsville Jan. 28.

South Kortright 63, Windham 19

Kayla Craft scored a game-high 19 points as South Kortright stayed undefeated with a win at home in the Delaware League.
