Mustangs girls down Wildcats

Margaretville 35, Roxbury 28

Sami Hunt scored 10 points to lead Margaretville to a Delaware League road win.

Annette Hogan contributed nine points and Tess Svoboda had eight for the Blue Devils, who rallied from a 13-9 halftime deficit.

Kennedy Faraci finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Rockets (6-5, 5-4), who visit South Kortright on Tuesday.

SKIING

Section Four Meet

Aidan Cohane and Mattie Seamans led Windham to sweep of the boys and girls races in a Section Four Meet at Windham Mountain.

Cohane finished in 23.33, beating teammate Brandon Cohane’s 24.28.

Seamans crossed in 27.08, beating teammate Natalie Vining, who finished in 29.91.

Oneonta’s top finisher was Monica Scheinder, who finished 10th in 36.20. Kragh Dellelo had the top Oneonta boys finish. He placed 12th in 35.16.

The next Section Four meet is Friday at Plattekill.

WRESTLING

Sidney 48, Whitney Point 34

Nick Jump (160 pounds) and Austin Dean (285) had first-period pins to lead Sidney to a win at home in the opening round of the Section Four Duals.

Jump pinned Nick Knight in 12 seconds. Dean needed 1:01 to stop Caden Watson.

Dylan Gifford (138), Brandon Swislosky (145) won matches by decision for Sidney, which will face top-seeded Johnson City in the quarterfinals Saturday at Chenango Forks.

Newark Valley beat Unatego in another first-round match of the Section Four Duals.

BOWLING

at Galaxy Bowl

Zach Wood rolled games of 230 and 219 in a 646 series to Sidney’s boys to a 4-0 Midstate Athletic Conference victory over Afton.

Bryant Gray contributed a 233 game for the Warriors.

Sidney’s girls also won, 4-0. Madison Cutting had 427 series for Sidney, which will host Oxford on Wednesday.
