Hartwick water polo wins opener

Dan Lee contributed his season high of 14 points for Oneonta, which trailed by 26 points with 3:46 to play.

The Red Dragons (2-15, 1-10) will travel to Hamilton College at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Keuka 89, Cobleskill 78

Kareem Bernard scored 22 points during SUNY Cobleskill’s North Eastern Athletic Conference road loss Sunday.

Alexis Nunez contributed 15 points for the Fighting Tigers (5-14, 3-6), who will host SUNYIT at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Keuka (9-9) is 7-3 in the NEAC.

Cobleskill 75, Wells 60

Unatego graduate Travis Woods made all five of his shots from the floor and grabbed six rebounds to help visiting SUNY Cobleskill to a North Eastern Athletic Conference victory Saturday.

The Fighting Tigers (5-13) improved to 3-5 in the NEAC. Wells (7-12) is 3-6 in conference.

Sophomore Alexis Nunez contributed 21 points, eight assists and three rebounds, and Tyrone Mitchell finished with 21 points and five rebounds for the Fighting Tigers.

Woods had 10 points, one more than teammate Dane Brown.

Delhi 81, Adirondack 51

Ismael Pierre went 9-for-10 from the field and scored a game-high 21 points to lead host SUNY Delhi to a Mountain Valley Conference win Saturday.

“He was getting to the rim at will,” Broncos coach Rob Schoener said of Pierre, who also grabbed seven rebounds. “He did a great job of getting to the rim and finishing plays.”

It marked the 32nd straight home win for Delhi _ a streak that started following a loss to Finger Lakes Community College in December of 2010.

Stefan Bock contributed 18 points on 6-for-6 shooting for Delhi. Bock hit three three-pointers.

Ibrahima Toure finished with 14 points and eight rebounds for the Broncos (21-2), who will travel to Clinton on Sunday.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Keuka 72, Cobleskill 56

Sidney graduate Danielle Gravel had 30 points, six rebounds and six assists to lead host Keuka to a North Eastern Athletic Conference victory Sunday.

Gravel made 8 of 13 shots from the floor, including 4-for-6 from three-point range, and went 10 of 13 from the free throw line.
