Softball pitching camp runs Sundays
The 2013 Oneonta Pitching Camp for girls ages 8-18 will run Sundays through March 3 at the Oneonta Boys and Girls Club.
Session I is for advanced pitchers, Session II is for intermediate and Session III is for beginners. There are limited openings for Session I, which runs from 1:30-3:30 p.m. and costs $200. Pitchers must possess the basic fundamentals and mechanics of windmill pitching.
Sessions II and III are $85 each. Session II runs from 3:30-4:30 p.m. and Session III runs from 4:30-5:30 p.m.

Delhi announces pool hours
SUNY Delhi’s Kunsela Pool will be open at the following days and times through March 17.
Monday-Friday: Lap swim 7-8 a.m., 11 am.-1 p.m.
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: Lap swim, 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: Open swim, 8:30-10 p.m.
Wednesday: Lap swim, 6-7 p.m.; Open swim, 9-10 p.m.
Friday: Open swim, 7-9 p.m.
Saturday-Sunday: Open swim, 1-5 p.m.
The pool will close for mid-winter break after the evening swim Feb. 28 and re-open March 11.
Registration for spring swim lessons will run from 9 a.m.-noon March 16.
Lifeguard training will start March 18. Cost is $270.
Cooperstown seeking nominations
Cooperstown Central is accepting nominations for its Athletics Hall of Fame, which will induct its Class of 2013 in the fall.

Hartwick to hold indoor soccer camp
Hartwick College will host its Jr. Hawks Winter Indoor Soccer Camp from Feb. 18-21 at the college.
The camp is for children ages 6-12 and runs from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. each day. Cost is $80.

State wrestling tickets on sale
Tickets are on sale for the 51st annual New York State Public High School Athletic Association Wrestling Tournament, which will run Feb. 22-23 at the Times Union Center in Albany.
Session 1 starts at 9:30 a.m. Feb. 22 with the Parade of Champions, followed by Division I and II preliminaries from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., quarterfinals from 2-4 p.m. and wrestlebacks from 4-8 p.m.
Session 2 features state semifinals and wrestlebacks from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Feb. 23, followed by wrestlebacks and consolation semifinals from 12:30-2 p.m. and consolation finals from 2-3:30 p.m.
Session 3 highlights Division I and II state championship matches and begins at 6 p.m. Feb. 23.
One-session tickets cost $12 apiece. Three-session ticket packages cost $38 for premium seating and $33 without. All seating is general admission, except for premium seating for the finals. Premium seating will not be sold separately during the finals.

Boys AAU tryouts Feb. 25

City softball to meet Feb. 25
The City of Oneonta Recreation Department will hold an informational meeting for City League Softball players and umpires at 6 p.m. Feb. 25 at the Laskaris Skatehouse in Neahwa Park.
The primary topics will be a new fee schedule for the program and proposed rule changes. Teams planning on participating in the 2013 program are encouraged to send at least one representative.
Youth soccer forms due March 1
Registration forms for the Oneonta Youth Soccer Association’s spring recreational program will be distributed through Oneonta elementary schools and are due March 1. Forms also are available at Latte Lounge on Main Street in Oneonta.

Milford to host 3-on-3 tourney
The Milford Education Foundation and Booster Club’s fourth annual March Madness 3-on-3 co-ed basketball tournament will start at 1 p.m. March 9 at Milford Central’s Anton Remy Jr. Gymnasium.
Entry forms for the double-elimination tournament must be submitted by March 1 to be considered early registration. Each team must have a minimum of three players and a maximum of four.
Cost is $10 per player. Entry fee, forms and waivers are due the day of the tournament. Registration for the tournament closes at 12:30 p.m. on March 9.
Teams will compete in co-ed division brackets for grades 5-6, 7-9, 10-12 and adult. Each team must have at least one male and one female player. Participants may play up but not down.

State boys basketball tickets on sale
Tickets for the March 15-17 New York State Public High School Athletic Association’s Boys Basketball State Championships at the Glens Falls Civic are on sale.
The first 1,000 tickets purchased before March 1 cost $8 each. A 4 for $50 package (four tickets, four hot dogs, four sodas) will be offered as well but is only available until March 1.
Regular ticket prices are $10 per session or $50 for all sessions over the three-day event.
State championship weekend begins with the Class D semifinals at 10 and 11:45 a.m. March 15, followed by the Class C semis at 1:30 and 5 p.m., and the Class B semis at 6:45 and 8:30 p.m.
The March 16 schedule opens with Class A semifinals at 9 and 10:45 a.m., with the Class AA semis to follow at 12:30 and 2:15 p.m. Finals for Class D (5:30 p.m.), Class C (7:15 p.m.) and Class B (9 p.m.) are also scheduled for March 16.
The Class A final is set for 1 p.m. March 17, with the Class AA final closing the weekend schedule at 2:45 p.m.

Delhi to offer lifeguard training
SUNY Delhi will offer Red Cross Waterfront Lifeguarding Training, AED, First Aid and CPR-FPR on Mondays and Wednesdays from March 18-May 6.
Classes will run from 6-9 p.m. There will be no classes on April 15 and 17.
Attendance at all sessions is required. Pre-screening the first night includes a 550-yard non-stop swim, a brick swim and retrieval, and a ring retrieval.
Class size is limited, with a minimum of six students. Cost is $270, including a $45 non-refundable deposit at registration. Remainder of fee is due the second day of class.
Delhi also will run a water exercise class from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from March 18-May 16. Cost is $30 for one day per week, $60 for two per week and $80 for three per week. Patricipants also may pay one day at a time, at $6 per day.

Golf continues through March
Colonial Ridge Golf in Laurens is accepting sign-ups for its winter simulator golf league.
Two-person teams compete weekly in a captain-and-mate format. Play runs through the week of March 25-29. Playing times are flexible as teams may on weekdays of their choice from week to week.
Weekly fees are $10 per person. A one-time fee of $20 per person is also required to pay for prize money (110-percent cash payout).

Rat Snake registration open
Registration is open for the 2013 Rat Snake, a triathlon held in honor of the late Dr. Ken Stalter.
The event, which is scheduled for May 18, will feature professional timing. The triathlon/team triathlon will begin at 7 a.m., followed by the trail run at 10 a.m. and the 3-kilometer jog/stroll at noon.
The triathlon and trail run will be limited to 100 participants. The team triathlon will be limited to 10 teams.
