Sixth-seeded Candor (8-9), which plays in the Interscholastic Athletic Conference, had a 24-12 cushion at halftime. Sierra Szwec scored 12 of her game-high 17 points in the opening half for Candor, which visits third-seeded Davenport (16-3) for a quarterfinal at 7 p.m. Friday.
Delaware League-affiliate H-T ended its season at 11-7.
Morris 52, Roxbury 22
Haley Wist scored a game-high 15 points to lead seventh-seeded Morris (13-4) to a first-round victory at Laurens in the Section Four Class D Tournament.
Delaware League-affiliate Roxbury (11-7), the 10th seed, played Morris of the Tri-Valley League to a 10-10 tie after one quarter. The Mustangs followed with a 17-5 advantage in the second quarter, which featured 10 of Wist’s points.
“I was very pleased how we played defense,” Morris coach Rhoda Flint said. “We had very active hands and were able to cause some turnovers.”
Alexis Forgit scored 12 points and Kelsea Webster contributed 11 for the Mustangs, who will visit second-seeded South Kortright (19-0) for a quarterfinal at 7 p.m. Friday.
Kennedy Faraci’s eight points paced the Rockets.
