Walton's lone completion of the night came with 13 seconds left, a 10-yard touchdown pass from Dalton Kaminsky to Isaac Wacha that gave the Warriors a key 30-26 Division VII victory at Bainbridge-Guilford in the Section Four Football Conference on Friday.
Dakota Vandermark's third touchdown run, a 43-yarder on fourth-and-2, gave the Bobcats a 26-24 lead with 3 minutes, 39 seconds left.
After Walton recovered squib kick at its 45, the Warriors drove methodically to B-G's 10. Kaminsky then rolled to his left on third down before throwing a low pass that Wacha caught on his knees.
"He really threaded it through some defenders and the kid caught it off his knees," B-G coach Tim Mattingly said. "Somebody had to make a play. Either we were going to make a play or Walton was going to make a play and unfortunately, Walton made a big play right at the end. It was a great high school football game."
Vandermark rushed 10 times for 187 yards. He also scored on touchdown runs of 51 and 65 yards, the latter giving the Bobcats a 20-8 lead in the second quarter.
"I think they went with a gameplan to stop Billy Holden, our big fullback," Mattingly said. "I think they tought we would pound it and attack the inside, because Billy's a big, strong back. That really opened the outside and Dakota had three long runs, because their focus was on Billy."
Holden finished with 62 yards on 15 carries.
Ryan Porter opened the scoring with a 9-yard touchdown run for B-G (1-1, 0-1). Walton answered on a 9-yard scoring run by Christian Howe, who then scored on the conversion to tie the score at 8.
Dylan Horbeck had a 5-yard touchdown run for Walton in the second quarter, cutting the Warriors' deficit to 20-16.
In the third quarter, Nick Shiels scored on a 22-yard run. Hornbeck's two-point run gave the Warriors a 24-20 lead.
Howe finished with 97 rushing yards and Shiels contributed 60 for the Warriors (1-1, 1-0).
