Delhi league seeks bowlers

The Delhi Mercantile Bowling League is accepting teams or individuals for its 2013-2014 fall/winter season.

The league bowls at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays at Holiday Lanes in Oneonta for 28 weeks, starting today.

Punt, Pass & Kick is Friday

The City of Oneonta’s local NFL Punt, Pass and Kick qualifier will run from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Ted Christman Field in Neahwa Park, rain or shine.

There is no cost to participate. Youths ages 6-15 are eligible to compete. One boy and one girl in each of five age-groups will qualify to advance to sectionals, which will be held Oct. 20 at Damaschke Field in Oneonta and include local qualifiers from the Southern Tier.

Sectional winners may qualify for the Buffalo Bills Team Championship at Ralph Wilson Stadium on Nov. 3.

Registrations will be accepted on the day of the event or in advance at the recreation office in Neahwa Park. A valid birth certificate must be presented at the time of registration. Registration forms must be completed by a parent or legal guardian. Forms are available at the recreation office and online at www.oneonta.ny.us/recreation.

Swim lessons start Sept. 28

SUNY Delhi will hold registration for its fall swimming lessons from 9 a.m.-noon Sept. 21 at the Kunsela Hall Pool.

Cost is $45 per swimmer. The seven-lesson program runs from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays from Sept. 28-Nov. 16. There will not be a lesson on Oct. 12. Each lesson is 45 minutes.

Classes include Red Cross levels I-VI, infant/toddler/preschool group, adult and diving.

OCC to host scramble Saturday

The Oneonta Country Club will host a three-man scramble at 1 p.m. Saturday.
