OHS boys rally to beat Johnson City, 2-1, at home

Walton’s best chance of the second half came on a 30-yard direct kick by Nate Pieper that hit the near post.

“It would have been nice to get that one,” Walton coach Andy Gates said.

Walton (8-4, 6-4) will host Unatego on Friday.

Sidney 4, Afton 1

Anthony Ruling and Justin Charles each scored two goals to lead host Sidney to a win in the Midstate Athletic Conference.

Charles’ goal from 18 yards, off an assist from Josiah Clarke, gave the Warriors a 1-0 lead midway through the first half.

Ruling scored unassisted from 8 yards, with 30:48 left in the second half to make it 2-0.

Sidney (6-5-1, 6-5-1) will face Bainbridge-Guilford in the Unadilla Valley Tournament at 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Joe Shearer scored for Afton.

B-G 2, UV 1

Zach Smith scored two goals, including the winner in overtime, to lead host Bainbridge-Guilford in the Midstate Athletic Conference.

Smith’s overtime goal came on a penalty kick with 5:38 left in the first overtime.

Smith forced overtime on a goal from 22 yards with 10:39 left in the second half.

Unadilla Valley’s David Schwab scored midway through the second half.

Bainbridge-Guilford (7-4, 7-4) will play Afton in the UV Tournament at 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Kyle King made 16 saves for the Storm.

Milford 3, Worcester 1

Peyton Griffiths scored twice, and Will Ward had a goal and an assist to lead host Milford to a Tri-Valley League victory.

Griffiths scored the game’s first goal 7 ½ minutes into play. He received a crossing pass from Eli Rutledge and scored to the upper right corner from 25 yards. Ward made it 2-0 later in the first half, finishing a cross from Stephen Banks.

Joey Aho scored in the second half for Worcester.

Milford (9-2, 8-1) will host Gilbertsville-Mount Upton on Friday.

Edmeston 3, G-MU 1

Austin Plows, Linton Wainright and Nate Wetherbee scored goals for visiting Edmeston in its Tri-Valley League victory.
