Dylan Nichols scored for Gilbertsville-Mount Upton (2-5-2), which will travel to Milford on Friday.

Morris 0, Franklin 0

Franklin’s Turner Thies made 11 saves, two more than counterpart Aidan Staib, as the Tri-Valley League rivals played to a tie.

“It was a tale of two halves,” Morris coach Dave Sander said. “Franklin dominated the first half and then we dominated the second half. In the first half, we had two shots and they had seven shots. It flipped in the second half and then it was back and forth in overtime.”

Sander added that Derek Beers had a couple of good looks for Franklin.

Morris (6-3-1, 6-3-1) will host Gilbertsville-Mount Upton on Saturday.

Unatego 4, Delhi 2

Johnathan Forte, Tristin Roefs and Austin Ryan all had a goal and an assist to lead visiting Unatego in the Midstate Athletic Conference.

Ryan scored off a scramble in front of the goal with 23 minutes left to give the Spartans a 3-1 lead. Forte assisted on the goal. Three minutes later, Roefs scored to the bottom left right corner off a throughball from Ryan to make it 4-1.

Brett Humphries also scored for Unatego (7-2-2, 6-2-2), which will travel to Walton on Friday.

Freshman Quinn McKeegan scored his first varsity goal for Delhi in the first half. Mitch Reed also had a goal for the Bulldogs.

CROSS COUNTRYat Waterville

Cooperstown sophomore Kristin Ratliff is proving to be a quick study as a runner.

Ratliff placed first as Cooperstown earned Center State Conference victories over Adirondack (23-incomplete), Waterville (19-40), Mount Markham (15-incomplete) and New York Mills (15-41).

Ratliff completed the 3.1-mile course in 20 minutes, 35 seconds. She beat runner-up Meghann Tanner of Adirondack by 7 seconds.

“Kristin was in the lead well before the first mile and, as far as I know, did not relinquish it,” Cooperstown coach Jessie Ravage said. “Kristin is exciting to watch race.”
