OHS boys rally to beat Johnson City, 2-1, at home


Ratliff’s teammate, Samantha Fanion, placed third in 21:23.

Cooperstown’s boys went 2-2, beating Waterville (15-incomplete) and Mount Markham (27-28), and losing to Adirondack (15-42) and New York Mills (16-43).

Jacob Russell’s 10th-place finish paced Cooperstown. He finished in 19:23.

Cooperstown will run at Herkimer on Wednesday.

at Duanesburg

Sam O’Brien finished sixth in the boys race and Addie Wilson placed ninth in the girls race as incomplete teams from Cherry Valley-Springfield competed Tuesday at Duanesburg.

O’Brien finished the 2.9-mile course in 20 minutes, 27 seconds. Wilson crossed in 28:49.

FIELD HOCKEYWalton 1, Harpursville 0

Megan McNamara, Elise Bray and Courtney Wheeler scored, and Walton goalie made two saves in a shootout that the Warriors won, 3-0, en route to a Section Four Conference Division II victory.

Walton (3-7, 2-4) held a 7-5 advantage in shots through regulation and two 7-on-7 overtime periods that produced no goals.

The Warriors will travel to Sidney on Friday.

VOLLEYBALLUnatego 3, Hancock 1

Taylor Reed had 10 kills and four assists, and Leanna McKee contributed 15 assists, eight aces and four kills to lead host Unatego to a 25-23, 24-26, 25-21, 25-18 Midstate Athletic Conference victory.

Marissa Woodard finished with nine blocks, and Kali Benedict had seven aces and four kills for the Spartans (4-7), who will travel to Greene tonight.

Mackinzie Mee had 10 digs, six kills and three aces for Hancock (5-6), which will host Bainbridge-Guilford tonight.
