Brothers among six local PPK winners

Staff Report

Oneonta residents and brothers Evan and Cameron Sitts were among six local youths to win championships Sunday during the NFL Punt, Pass and Kick sectional competition at Damaschke Field in Oneonta.

Evan won the boys 12-13 age-group with a combined total of 192 feet, 5 inches. Cameron took the boys 8-9 crown with a total score of 95-6.

Oneonta had two other champions in Jarod Card (142-15) and Brady Carr (76-9), who finished first in the boys 10-11 and 6-7 age-groups, respectively. Brady is the son of Hartwick College football coach Mark Carr.

Milford’s Luke Courter had the top overall performance with a score of 224-3. His victory in the boys 14-15 group included a pass of 110-2.

Kayla Grabo of Mount Upton rounded out the local winners. Kayla took the girls 14-15 title at 117-5.

Scores are calculated by combining distances for punting, passing and kicking. Accuracy also helps determine final distances in each category.

All six winners qualified to compete in the Buffalo Bills Team Championship, which will be held Nov. 3 at Ralph Wilson Stadium before the Bills host the Kansas City Chiefs.
