ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. — Doris R. Webster, 91, formerly of Laurens and most recently of Zephyrhills, Fla., passed away on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012.
Doris was born on July 19, 1921, in Oneonta, the daughter of the late Daniel and Mary (Rifenbark) Rose.
She was married to William E. Webster, who predeceased her in June of 1944.
She was a graduate of Otego High School. Doris was a cashier for the Victory Supermarket chain for many years. She then became employed by the Grand Union Supermarket in Oneonta until her retirement. In her spare time, Doris was an avid golfer.
Doris is survived by her son, William E. Webster of Zephyrhills, Fla.; her granddaughter, Erika Bowman and her husband, Mike of Niskayuna; her grandson, Wade Webster and his wife, Lisa of Wyoming, Minn.; and four great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband and her two brothers, Russell Rose and Daniel Rose.
In keeping with the family’s wishes, there will be no public calling hours. A graveside service will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, in the Oneonta Plains Cemetery, Oneonta, with the Rev. Mel Farmer officiating.
In lieu of flowers, Doris’ family asks that donations be made in her memory to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 North Beauregard St., Alexandria, Va. 22311.
