ONEONTA — Helen Soules, 84, of Oneonta, passed away Aug. 2, 2013, at Olean General Hospital, Olean.
She was born Feb. 19, 1929, in Bloomville, the daughter of Perry and Elma (Dross) Craft.
She married Raymond Soules on May 15, 1953, in Downsville. He predeceased her, Aug. 14, 1974.
Helen worked as an Adult Caseworker for Delaware County Department of Social Services in Delhi.
A lifelong area resident she enjoyed membership on a bowling team; spending lunches with friends; reading with a hot cup of tea and she loved being with people and helped them in any way she could.
She is survived by special sisters, Sally and Lewis VanAiken, New Foundland, Pa., Marion Keyser, Stamford; stepdaughters, Pat Wolcott and Beverly Ecker, Livingston Manor; grandchildren, Hank Wolcott and Keith Wolcott; great-grandchildren, Gene Wolcott and Jessica Wolcott, all of Livingston Manor; a niece, Alyce and Larry Bauer, Morris; nephews, Richard and Lorraine Kosier and Jeff Kosier, Stamford; and other special nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will take place from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, at the MacArthur Funeral Home, Hobart, with the Rev. Mel Farmer officiating. Burial will follow the service in Downsville Cemetery, Downsville.
