BAINBRIDGE — Carl R. Smith Sr., 80, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at the Norwich Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
He was born Sept. 8, 1932, in Bainbridge, the son of Lynn Jesse and Mariba (Leonard) Smith.
Carl joined the Army Reserves after high school. He worked at Keith Clark in Sidney for 39 years.
He enjoyed hunting and the outdoors, also was a member of many bowling leagues.
Carl is survived by his son, Carl R. Smith Jr.; and his daughter, Lorelei and her four children; and a son and daughter-in-law, David and Cynthia Smith, all of Norwich.
He was predeceased by his second wife of 26 years, Caroline Smith.
Calling hours will be 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2013, at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, Oneonta. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Montfort, pastor at the First Presbyterian Church, Oneonta, officiating.
Interment will take place in Butternuts Cemetery in Gilbertsville, at a later date.
