WILMINGTON, N.C. — John Thomas Baryk passed peacefully in his home with his family by his side at the age of 69 on April 18, 2013. John, born Jan. 24, 1944, to John and Lucille Baryk in Brooklyn, has found peace, comfort and ease in the hands of our Lord.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Pamela Baryk; and three children; John Baryk of East Worcester, Cassandra Baryk and husband Matt Cadle, children Daryn and Addison, Megan Oates and husband DJ, children Rylie, Camryn and Callie, all from Wilmington, N.C.

John and Lucille relocated early in John’s life to Decatur, where he had established his life for what would be the next 60 plus years. During this period John had become an avid outdoorsman something he cherished until the day he passed. He graduated high school from Worcester Central School in 1962.

Immediately following high school, John served proudly and valiantly in the United States Army participating in engagements within Korea between the years of 1962 and 1965. Upon discharge John had established himself within General Electric where he faithfully worked for the next 37 years as a die setter and welder. Concluding General Electric John enjoyed working part-time for NAPA of Worcester.

Upon retirement age John relocated to Wilmington, N.C., in pursuit of his daughters and grandchildren whom he wanted nothing more than their time and presence.

While in Wilmington, N.C., he captured glimpses of his outdoor passion that he had developed and loved in New York at the Johnnie Mercer pier. It was at the pier John would spend his days and nights casting his line into the Atlantic and sharing conversation amongst the locals.

Despite the loss of our husband, father, papa, uncle, cousin and friend we have all gained so much more from his presence than what we have lost from his departure.
