CHERRY VALLEY — Myra Ruth Webster, 91, passed away Friday, April 26, 2013, at Otsego Manor, peacefully, under their wonderful care.
She was born April 1, 1922, in South Valley, the daughter of Elmer Herbert Mabie and Mary Washington Shillito Mabie.
She was married to James Lawrence Webster Sr. on Aug. 6, 1945.
On Dec. 21, 1930, she joined the First Christian Church, South Valley. She attended a one-room schoolhouse in South Valley through eighth grade, and graduated from Cherry Valley Central School in June 1940.
She was a full-time homemaker. She loved the outdoors, gardening, mowing the lawn, cooking, baking and feeding the birds.
Survivors include her children, Suzanne (Jack) Tompson of Cherry Valley, James (Lori Solis) Webster Jr. of Austin, Texas, David Webster of Princess Anne, Md., and Rebecca Lofstrom of Fort Plain; six grandchildren, Michael (Kim) Clapper, Ronald (Jennifer) Clapper, Matthew J. and Madeline Webster, Miranda and Sarena Webster; three step-grandchildren, Kerry (Harry) Connal, Aaron Lofstrom and Caleb (Jessica) Lofstrom; six great-grandchildren, Jacob, Katerna, Arwen, and Nova Clapper, Riley and Lily Clapper; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, James; her brothers, George, Herbert, Frank and Frederick Mabie; sister, Luella Brodie; and her son-in-law. Roger Lofstrom.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at the First Christian Church, South Valley. Burial will follow in the South Valley Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, at the Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley.
