UNADILLA — Philip Merton Youngs, 62, of Unadilla, fought a brief battle with lung cancer. In the early evening on April 26, Philip overcame the many obstacles of leaving his family and began a new journey in the presence of his wife, Sanimah.
Philip was predeceased by his wife of 41 years, Susan (Spinola) Youngs; his mother. Louise Crosby; and his brother, Danny Youngs.
He leaves his loving wife, his six children, three stepchildren, 23 grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sanimah, Unadilla; brother, Jerry (Terry) Youngs, Oneonta; son, Philip (Andrea) Youngs II, Unadilla; daughter, Teresa (John) Falkner, Gurnee, Ill., daughter, Paula (Robert) Fitch, Unadilla; son, Jason (Melissa) Youngs, Unadilla; daughter, Angela (Sean) Aldridge, Justin, Texas; son, Bryan Youngs, Gurnee, Ill.; stepdaughter, Liyana Ramli Singapore; stepson, Iskandar Ramli Singapore; stepdaughter, Fibiyana Inessha, Unadilla; 23 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews, Ginger Baker; and his many friends from Shop Cards, Inc.
A special thank you to the employees in the Special Care Unit at Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown for their loving care during Philip’s final days.
A public celebration of Philip’s life will be held at 854 County Highway 2, Unadilla, (formerly the Unadilla Grange Hall) starting at 1p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2013.
In lieu of flowers, the family recommends that memorials be made to your local American Cancer Society in Philip’s name.
