Beatrice M. Buel

GILBOA — Beatrice M. Buel, 81, formerly of Gilboa, passed away peacefully Feb. 16, 2014, with her family around her. She had recently moved in with family in Winsted, Conn., and spent her last months very happy surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bea was born May 17, 1932, in Roxbury, the daughter of Ward and Mamie (Conrad) Brand.

She married Ross A. Buel on Oct. 7, 1950, at Windham. Ross died Oct. 29, 2007.

Bea attended Roxbury Central School and was a former member of the Conesville Fire Department Auxiliary.

She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Bonnie and Robert Slater and Darlene and Everett Slater; three sons and their spouses, Galen and Gladys Buel, Daryl and Cindy Buel and Pat and Eileen Buel; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Marge Wayman; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at the Miller Funeral Home, Roxbury, with the Rev. Wayne Marquit and the Rev. Dottie Morris, officiating.

Committal services will be held at a later date in Manorkill Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held at the Miller Funeral Home from 4 until 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014.

Donations in memory of Beatrice Buel may be made to the Conesville Rescue Squad in care of William Federice, 823 South Mt. Road, Gilboa, NY 12076.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Miller Funeral Home, Roxbury.
