Douglas D. Tabor
BALLSTON SPA — Douglas D. Tabor, 60, passed away suddenly Feb. 17, 2014.
Born in Schenectady on Jan. 21, 1954, he was the son of Eleanor Tabor and the late Douglas D. Tabor Sr. He grew up in Cooperstown and was a graduate of Cooperstown Central High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Douglas was an engineer in the nuclear industry and later was an engineer for Amtrak. He most recently worked for Ruan Transportation as a truck driver where he was beloved by his co-workers and friends. Douglas enjoyed traveling and exploring the country in his RV.
He was predeceased by his father, Douglas Tabor Sr.; and infant daughter, Sierra.
Douglas is survived by his mother, Eleanor Tabor of Ballston Spa; his sisters, Diana Wernig (John) of Ballston Spa, Cheri Oberpriller (Barry) of Leverett, Mass., Tammy Bowie (Jim) of Virginia Beach, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to call from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High St., Ballston Spa. A service will follow at 2 p.m.
Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24, at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
