ALBANY — Lois Evon Shillieto died on Nov. 9, 2012, at Kingston Hospital, Kingston.
She was born Sept. 9, 1928, in Omaha, Neb., the eldest daughter of John and Vera (Patterson) Elet.
She attended public schools and graduated from the University of Nebraska-at Omaha in 1953 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology.
After graduation she relocated to California, where she met her husband, Alton, at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego. She left California and flew to Hawaii where Lois and Alton were married on July 23, 1959.
Returning to the Mainland in 1961, the couple settled on the family farm in Burlington (near Cooperstown), where Lois raised two sons and tended a flock of 40 sheep.
The couple moved to Albany in 1984.
After retirement, Lois and Alton enjoyed cruising and seeing the world.
Following the death of her beloved husband in December 2011, Lois had moved to New Paltz.
Her parents and her brother, John Elet, also predeceased Lois.
She is survived by her sons: Tom (Carin), of Hamden, Conn., and John (Terry), of Milton, as well as two grandchildren, Dillon and Eliza; sisters Norma Madison and Ruth Wagner; and several nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in the Burlington Green Cemetery.
