HARPERSFIELD — Edward Kochersberger, 63, passed away peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, with his family by his side.
He moved to the Town of Harpersfield in 1983, with his wife and very young son.
He worked for the Town of Harpersfield highway crew for 20 years retiring in 2006, and in later years was a part-time security guard at the Gilboa Dam for MG Security.
He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He was also an avid race car fan.
He leaves behind his wife, Ann, of 34 years; his son, Eddie and wife Crystal; two granddaughters, Katie and Kaci; daughter, Alisan and boyfriend Patrick; his father Ted and stepmother Phyllis; sister, Linda and her husband, Allen; and nephew, Bobby and his wife, Stephanie; brother, Charlie and wife Karen; nephew, Jake; niece, Ryan; brother, Jon and wife Abigail; nephew, Owen; niece, Kaia; sister, Katie and fiancé Matt; stepsister, Stacey and boyfriend Paul; niece, Alexis; stepbrother, Butch and wife Stacy; nephew, Kaleb; and niece, Kelsey; stepsister, Crystal and husband John; and uncles, Lanny and Norman.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at the Hall-Tari Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Stamford.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, in the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, with Pastor Michael Cambi, officiating. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Hall-Tari Funeral home, Stamford under the direction of William A. Tari.
