Leo F. Sutherlin
OTEGO — Leo F. Sutherlin, 82 of Otego, passed away peacefully at Binghamton General Hospital after a short illiness.
He was born in Boscobel, Wis., in 1931. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1949 to 1952, and was honorably discharged.
He worked for Raymond Corporation in Greene for 22 years.
He married Phyllis J. Baker Morse on March 30 1979. They lived in South Carolina for 20 years where he worked for Carolina Handling Inc. of Greenville, S.C., until his retirement in 1997. They moved back to New York in 1998, to be near most of their families.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; daughters, Nancy (Kurt) Clinton, Debra Sutherlin (Doug Stevens); stepdaughters, Kathy Oglesby, Sheri (Gary ) Row, Barbara White (David Baird), Nancy (Scott) Brittan; a stepson, James (Electra) Morse; a brother, Leonard; a sister-in-law, Pat Sutherlin; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; a son, Stephen; a sister, Evelyn; and a brother, Charles.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at the Salvation Army Church, 25 River St., Oneonta with Captain Evelyn Hopping officiating.
