MORRIS — Arthur L. Shelley, formerly of Morris and most recently of Florida, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at Palm Garden of Largo in Largo, Fla.
He was born on Aug. 14, 1934, in Oneonta, the son of Charles Tracey Shelley and Loretta (Ballard) Shelley.
He married Leona Wild on Oct. 14, 1958, in Morris.
He was a machinist for Bendix Corporation in Sidney. Art was also well-known as a successful truck salesman for Shuman’s International Harvester in Oneonta, and Smith-Norwich Ford in Norwich.
He was a member of the Sand Hill Methodist Church of Unadilla, and the Morris Fire Department.
Art is survived by his wife, Leona of Dunedin, Fla.; daughter, Brenda (Art) Birdsall of Dallas, Pa.; sons, Barry (Melissa) of Morris, and Brian (Heidi) of Cortland; grandchildren, Amanda, Tracey, Olivia, Lucas and Brandon; niece, Ginger Reuter of Crystal River, Fla.; nephews, Gene Jorgenson of Kimbolton, Ohio and Troy Jorgenson of Schenevus.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, with the Rev. Nancy Stanley officiating at the Johnston Funeral Home in Morris.
