EAST SPRINGFIELD — Gail Walrath, 74, of East Springfield, passed away Dec. 25, 2013, at Little Falls Hospital, due to complications associated with long-term Parkinson’s disease.
She was born Sept. 12, 1939, in Cooperstown and raised in Richfield Springs, the daughter of Anne (Budka) and Randolph Welden.
She first married Francis G. Patterson Jr. (Jerry) in 1957. She later married John D. Walrath on May 5, 1984.
She is survived by daughters, Randalin Patterson of Lansing, Susan (Bruce) Hargrove of East Springfield; and son, Daniel (Michelle) Patterson of Richfield Springs. She is also survived by grandsons, Craig Hysack (Meghan Walsh) of East Springfield and Randal Patterson of Richfield Springs.
She was preceded in death by daughter, Anne Patterson; grandson, Kyle Hysack; first husband, Jerry Patterson; and brother, Herbert Welden.
She is also survived by extended family that includes Brian and Brenda Hysack, children, Brian Jr. and Sarah, Martha Welden; and the family of Agnes and Francis Patterson Sr. She was surrounded by scores of helpful, caring friends.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at Saint Thomas Church in Cherry Valley. Friends who wish to pay their respects are invited to join the family at Kateri Hall next to Saint Thomas Church following the service at noon.
