SPRINGFIELD CENTER — Shirley Ann Aspinwall, 70, of Springfield Center, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at Bassett Hospital after a short period of declining health.
Shirley was born in Cooperstown on Nov. 15, 1943, a daughter of the late Almiran J.Davis Jr. and Ellen (Jones) Davis. She was the wife of David Henry Aspinwall of Springfield Center.
Shirley worked briefly at the Red Sleigh, and Beaver Cross in the kitchens, but spent most of her time as a homemaker.
She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Melvin Davis, of Florida.
She is survived by her husband, David, of 37 years; her sons. Almiron J.(Jeff) Deis and his wife, Janet, of Marietta, Ohio, Johnathan F. Deis of Savannah. Ga., Lawrence R. Deis Jr. of West Schuyler, and daughter, Robin A. Richards and her husband, Robin, of Allenstown, N.H.; her brothers, Orson Davis of Raquette Lake, Dorson Davis of Raquette Lake, and Bradford Davis of Montana.; her sisters, Janice Davis of the state of Florida, Barbara Snyder of Watertown, Leigh Ainslie of Springfield Center, Kim Corcoran of Bridgeport, Conn., Sandy Starr of Springfield Center and Linda Buddle of Cooperstown; numerous nieces and nephews, 15 grandchildren and seven great-grand children.
Cremation took place at the Leatherstocking Crematory Inc., Cherry Valley. A memorial service will be held in the spring at the Springfield Center Cemetery.
