Ivan ‘Ike’ L. Rogers Sr.
JEFFERSON — Ivan “Ike” L. Rogers Sr., 79, of Jefferson, passed away on Jan. 6, 2014, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Amesterdam, with his loving family by his side.
Ivan was born Jan. 22, 1934, to Allen and Mable Rogers.
He was married to Mary Jane (Roe) Rogers on May 9, 1959.
He worked for 32 years and retired from the Schoharie County Highway Department. He was a member of the Jefferson Fire Department.
Ivan enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding on his lawn tractor, along with spending time with his family.
He will be remembered with love by his five children, Evelyn (Marvin) Jester, Ivan Jr. (Linda) Rogers, Randy
(Martha) Rogers, Daniel (Wilma) Rogers and Sheila (Tom Sherman) White; grandchildren, Erin (Fred) Blumberg, Sarah Bailey, Timmy White, Miranda White, Randy Rogers Jr.; great-granddaughter, Alexis Blumberg; and his brother, Alfred Rogers; several family members and many friends.
He was predeceased by his wife, parents, brothers and sisters.
Memorial contributions may be made in Ivan’s name to the Jefferson Fire Department Rescue Squad.
Friends and family may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 9, at the Hall-Tari Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Stamford. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 10, at the funeral home.
Interment will be later in the Evergreen Cemetery in Jefferson.
